This Privacy Policy describes how Benthic Dev (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our offline developer utility application on Android.

1. Summary

Text, tokens, and files you enter are processed only on your device.
We do not operate servers that receive your tool input.
Version 1.0 does not declare the INTERNET permission and does not send your content over the network.
We do not sell your personal data.

2. Information we process

The App is a local toolkit (JSON, JWT parsing, Base64, hashes, regex, timestamps, and related utilities). When you use a tool:

Input you provide (for example JSON, URLs, JWT strings, regular expressions, or numbers) stays in the App’s memory on your phone while you use that screen.
Output is computed on-device and shown to you; it is not uploaded by the App.

We do not require an account, email, or phone number to use the App.

3. Data stored on your device

The App may store small amounts of data locally to improve your experience:

Preferences (such as theme mode) via Android DataStore.
Recent tools (tool identifiers and open timestamps) via a local Room database.
Onboarding state so the welcome flow is not repeated unnecessarily.

This data remains on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall the App. We cannot access it remotely.

4. What we do not collect

In version 1.0, the App is designed without:

Advertising identifiers or ad networks
Third-party analytics SDKs that track your tool input
Cloud backup of your snippets or JWTs by us
Automatic transmission of your clipboard or files to our servers

5. Permissions

The App’s manifest for version 1.0 does not request network access. Optional system permissions may be added in future versions only when a feature truly requires them; we will update this policy before release.

6. Sensitive data

JWTs, API keys, passwords, and production secrets should be handled carefully. Parsing or hashing sensitive values on any device carries risk if the device is compromised. Do not use the App on untrusted devices for production secrets. JWT signature verification is not performed in the App; decoded payloads are for inspection only.

7. Children

The App is intended for developers and general productivity users. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Third-party services

When you install or update the App through Google Play, Google may process data according to its own policies. That processing is governed by Google, not by this App’s offline runtime.

9. Data retention and deletion

Local data is retained until you delete it or remove the App. To delete all App data: Android Settings → Apps → Benthic Dev → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the App.

10. International users

Because processing occurs on your device, your content does not leave your phone through the App in version 1.0. If you contact us by email, your message is handled according to your email provider’s practices.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes (for example new tools, permissions, or optional online features). We will revise the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide notice in the App or on the store listing.
